National Boss Day: Send Your Boss to the Barn! - Volunteer at Reigning Hope Ranch in Orrington
Give your boss a day at the barn—and lend a hand to our herd and community.
SEND YOUR BOSS TO THE BARN! (Or a designee)
This National Boss’s Day, give your boss something a little different — meaningful work, a few new four-legged coworkers, and a chance to give back. (No horse riding) We promise to send them back in one piece.
Employees, coworkers and workplace teams are invited to rally together and sponsor their boss for a hands-on volunteer experience at Reigning Hope Ranch. No amount is too small.
Your boss will spend time at the Ranch pitching in with skills-based volunteer tasks, helping where needed, grooming horses and donkeys, and getting a firsthand look at the work that keeps our nonprofit moving.
And yes — a workplace may send a designated team member in place of the boss!

WHY VOLUNTEERING MATTERS HERE:
Reigning Hope Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit powered by volunteers.
Our volunteers help care for the Ranch and herd, maintain the spaces where our programs happen, support events and outreach, and make it possible for RHR to continue opening its gates to people throughout our community.
Every set of willing hands matters.
When your workplace participates in Send Your Boss to the Barn, you aren't simply giving your boss an experience. You're putting volunteer hours behind a local nonprofit while your team's financial support helps RHR continue its mission.
It’s a Boss’s Day gift that does some good long after the day is over.
ABOUT REIGNING HOPE RANCH:
Reigning Hope Ranch is an Orrington, Maine 501(c)(3) nonprofit built around the connection between people, horses and community.
Through our herd, volunteers and programs such as CORE Equine Co-Regulation, RHR creates opportunities for connection, grounding and meaningful time with horses — including programs and gatherings for veterans, first responders, caregivers and others in our community.
Our work is made possible through volunteers, donors, sponsors and people who simply decide to show up and help.
Horses. Healing. Hope.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Rally your coworkers.2. Choose your boss (or workplace designee).3. Collect your team’s sponsorship donations.4. Register for an available time slot.5. Send your boss to the barn!6. Your boss gives two hours of their time while your team’s support gives back to RHR.
Volunteer activities will be matched to individual skills, abilities and comfort levels. No horse experience is necessary.
THANK YOU! Thank you to every employee who contributes, every workplace that participates, and every boss willing to trade the office for the barn.
Your participation means more than a fun Boss’s Day.
You are giving your time, helping care for the place and animals that make our work possible, and supporting a nonprofit that relies on its community to keep going.
From our volunteers, our herd and everyone at Reigning Hope Ranch — thank you for choosing to make Boss’s Day mean something.
We can't wait to put your boss to work!
ATTENTION TEACHERS! Need a fresh way for students to earn volunteer hours AND raise money for their school, team or organization?
Hooves & Hearts brings them to Reigning Hope Ranch for a 2-hour, hands-on volunteer experience with our horses and donkeys—while their sponsor donations help support their own group and RHR, a non-profit 501c3 in Orrington.
Meaningful. Supervised. And a lot more memorable than another fundraiser.
